The Zeph-Air is a superlative biplane designed to have full 3D aerobatic capabilities while retaining very realistic looks and docile handling characteristics.
The Zeph-Air is a full range aircraft offering everything from sport flying to full 3D aerobatics. Since a great number of modelers fly from grass fields, the Zeph-Air was given extra prop clearance for easier take-offs and landings. The Zeph-Air is also sized to be IMAA-legal and flies great on a 1.4 Gas motor. But you can lose a pound and a half by going with the OS 1.20 AX, stock muffler and a Hyde Mount for the engine and come in at 12#!
The Zeph-Air uses the NACA-23012 airfoil for excellent aerobatics and great slow-speed handling for take-offs and landings. The top wing bolts on with two bolts at the cabanes and one socket-head cap screw at each end of the "I" struts.
The lower wing is attached underneath with two nylon screws and again one socket-head cap screw at each "I" strut. The wing sports four ailerons for a fantastic roll rate. The Zeph-air can be built with either 2 or 4 aileron servos.
The Zeph-Air has a removable cockpit so that you can access your flight servos without having to remove the bottom wing and balance the plane upside-down.
The Zeph-Air is all balsa/ply construction utilizing precision laser-cut parts and machine cut parts. The cabanes and landing gear are both made from sturdy aluminum. There are no flying wires on the tail to mar the great looks of this airplane.
Included with the kit is a 108-page Instruction Manual with many construction pictures to aid your building task. Also included in the kit is a Companion CD filled with a color version of the Instruction Manual and large full-color photos used during construction. We had so many great photos of this plane that we could not fit them all in the Instruction Manual, so we provided them here on the Companion CD. You can view the photographs on the Companion CD with any browser.
